Last week we went to LA to the attend the 3rd Annual Visual Effects Society Awards in Hollywood. It was a grand, sit-down dinner, black tie affair. It meant I got to wear my fancy frock. I was nominated as part of a four-person team for "OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE BY AN ANIMATED CHARACTER IN A LIVE ACTION MOTION PICTURE" award. Sadly we didn't win for our work on Lemony Snickett's "Sunny" character, but we did get mentioned in the opening address for making the digital Sunny look so real, we were even fooling the VFX professionals. That made me prouder than winning the award itself. (Actually - the award would have been better still, but I am just trying to put on a brave face.) We had a great time, but our pictures aren't that great. You'll get the idea though...
If you look very closely, you might spot Tom Hanks.
