Tulips are lovely buy they don't last long. Did you pierce(pin) the stem just under the flower this helps to stop drooping.

None of our tulips drooped until I read this comment. I came home from work and my beautiful aubergine-coloured tulips were all droopy. And I couldn't find the pins (probably too late for that), they must be in an unpacked box somewhere...
